Buying a house for my mum

I always said that if I ended up being rich, I'd buy a house for my mum. She's always rented and been at the mercy of the whims of landlords and real estate agents who ask her to leave at any time. I've made some smart investments over the last 10 years, and I am ready to be able to buy her a nice modest house so that she can live in her own home. This blog is all about the search for a house for my mum and has a lot of tips on buying real estate for family members.

Meeting Room Hire Tips

by Joseph Jennings

As a business person, you could need a meeting room to hold workplace meetings, hold seminars or trainings. Meeting room hire is a viable option if you do not have a meeting facility on your premises. So, how do you hire a meeting room? Below are some tips.

Location

Ideally, the meeting room should be accessible to your employees or the people who will attend the meeting. Conduct an online search to determine the area's traffic conditions and the fastest route to the location. As a rule, the building housing the meeting room should have adequate parking space. It would be disappointing if people are late for the meeting since they were busy looking for parking space.

Orientation

Assess the orientation of the meeting room. For instance, you will need a roundtable if your meeting has a few invites. If you have many attendees (say you are planning a seminar), the meeting room should have a classroom-like design. It ensures attendees have an easy time concentrating. Besides, they will have a clear view of the front. The meeting room must have sufficient light and aeration. If possible, you should visit the meeting room to identify distractions such as street noises or heavy machinery from nearby businesses.

Amenities

Look out for the following amenities when choosing a meeting room:

  • Comfortable seats are a must-have. Otherwise, attendees will be in a hurry to leave the meeting room. Remember to check the seating capacity of the room.
  • The room should have a projector and dry-wipe boards to ensure people have an easy time making their presentations.
  • The room should have access to clean washrooms.
  • If you need the meeting room for an extended period, it should have a small kitchen where guests can make refreshments during breaks.
  • An AC system will ensure your guests are comfortable throughout the meeting.

Pricing And Terms Of Hire

Compare the pricing of several meeting rooms to determine if your preferred meeting room is reasonably charged. There are several ways to make savings as you hire the meeting room. For instance, most companies will give an instant discount to people that make an early booking. You could also ask the company to provide free extras such as drinking water and notebooks to the attendees.

Remember to assess the terms of meeting room hire. For instance, will you suffer penalties if you litter the room? Will the company extend the hire period? Additionally, assess the company's noise policy if you intend to use a public address system.
